Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 21, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how tapa. uses cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage) when you visit our website or public tapa. pages.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Local and session storage are similar browser technologies that let a site remember information between visits or during a single session.
How we use them
We group technologies into three categories. You can accept or reject optional categories via the cookie banner shown on your first visit.
1. Essential (always active)
Required for the Service to function. These cannot be disabled via our banner.
- tapa_token (local storage) — keeps you signed in to your dashboard after login
- tapa_cookie_consent (local storage) — remembers your cookie choices
2. Analytics (optional)
Help page owners understand how their public tapa. page is used. Only activated if you accept analytics cookies.
- tapa_visitor_id (local storage) — anonymous ID to count unique visitors across sessions
- tapa_session_id (session storage) — anonymous ID for a single browsing session
Analytics events may also include a hashed IP address processed on our servers — raw IP addresses are never stored. See our Privacy Policy for details.
3. Preferences (optional)
Remember choices you make in the dashboard UI.
- tapa_chart_metrics (local storage) — which metrics are enabled on the analytics chart
Third-party cookies
We load Google Fonts on some pages. Google may set its own cookies according to their policy. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking pixels.
Managing your choices
You can change your preferences at any time by clearing site data in your browser or running this in the browser console on tapa.so:
localStorage.removeItem('tapa_cookie_consent') — then refresh the page to see the banner again.
You can also block cookies via your browser settings, though essential features like login may stop working.
